2017 Goals

Happy 2017 friends! Can you believe we are already in 2017? I know it sounds cliché, but each year I am befuddled by how quickly the time flies. 2016 was a really great year for me and it was almost hard to say goodbye, but I am already looking forward to what 2017 has in store. Aren’t you?

I’m a big fan of setting goals and each year Caleb and I have a coffee date where we sit down and intentionally set our goals for the year. We actually use a proper goal setting PDF we created based on a few books and goal setting sheets we had read in the past. This PDF helps to ensure that we fulfill each goal to our best potential. If you would like a copy of it, either email me or leave your email in the comments below and I will share it with you!

Below are a 9 of my 2017 goals. These aren’t all of them, but a few of my staples for the year!

Personal

1.) Invest. This year I want to invest in my relationships, finances, our church and things that matter. We are blessed to have family and incredible friends here in NYC and this year I yearn to be more intentional about spending time with everyone. Between work, travel and the basic busyness of life, I’m learning just how important it is to make time for the ones you love. In 2017, we also plan on investing in our first vacation rental property in Branson, Missouri– YAY! More on that coming soon!

2.) Learn French. This has been on my bucket list forever! Like a seriously embarrassingly long amount of time. And after our recent trip to Paris, I am newly inspired to begin learning the beautiful language all over again! I have Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone and Duolingo for French, so hopefully one of them will work. Any tips or suggestions?

3.) Start our family. Yep, I said it. I really thought about whether or not to share this with you all since it is pretty personal, but you have all been with me for highs and lows- so why change that now. We are not trying yet, but do plan to start later in the year. I am both terrified and beyond excited!

Blog

1.) Post consistently. In 2017, I plan on posting at least 2-3 times a week (hopefully more)! I’ve been so encouraged by each of you and adore the community that has been formed through the blog world. I could not be more thankful for each and every one of you!

2.) Learn video. Last year I started dabbling in the YouTube world and loved it! This year, my goal is to get better at creating videos and to post at least 1 video a week. These videos will range from travel to life in NYC to companies I am loving and think you would love to! What would you like to see more of on YouTube? {you can subscribe here & watch my other videos here}

3.) Use Pinterest & Bloglovin. I love Pinterest and Bloglovin- I really do, but I always forget about them! Anyone else with me? I turn to Pinterest to help plan a trip, look for outfit inspiration or find yummy meal ideas, but when it comes to using it for my blog… I just forget! And I love following bloggers on Bloglovin so I can see all of my favorite bloggers in one place, but again- I forget to remind everyone that you can find me there too! Go follow me on Bloglovin & Pinterest now and I promise I will be better about it this year!

Adventure

1.) Travel. After returning home from Thailand in April of 2015, we didn’t leave the America until November of 2016. My goal for 2017 is to travel more often. We rang in the New Year in Paris and then headed to Colmar, Geneva and Dublin. And thanks to all of you- we will be headed to London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin with Accor Hotels in March. We want to continue the theme of travel in 2017, even if that means traveling around the United States. I adore learning about different cultures and trying new things. Where do you think we should go?

2.) Explore NYC. I love living in New York City. There is always something new to see, another museum to explore or a restaurant to try. In 2017 I want to be better about visiting the museums, going to shows/ballets/operas and be overall more adventurous with our restaurants.

3.) Host more. In case you couldn’t tell, I love going on adventures and making memories. This year, we hope to host more guests and make more memories with friends. We may only have a one-bedroom apartment, but we have a great blow up mattress and love spending time with people.

What are some of your goals for 2017?
