Beautiful in its Time

Ecclesiastes411 Beyond blessed blog

I need this verse for so many reasons. Life has many seasons and only God is able to make everything beautiful in His time. Key words: His time… not mine.

I don’t know about you, but I am a planner. I like to know what I am doing and when I will be doing it. Each day is completely planned out (with color coordination and by the hour… a little obsessive, I know). But I have had to learn that my plans always fail in comparison to His plans.

For those of you who don’t know me- my plan since middle school was to go off to college (somewhere near a beach), graduate with a degree in fashion, move to New York City, start a successful company, then meet a man and get married around 30. Well, the Lord has a sense of humor. I went to college in Florida for 2.5 years and the Oklahoma (goodbye ocean) for 1.5 years, graduated with a degree not in fashion, got married the summer after graduating, and then moved to Branson, Missouri (goodbye big city)! But you know what? His timing and His plans far exceed any dreams I ever had.

While it is easy to give Him glory & praise during wonderful situations such as these, the verses prior to 3:11 tell me that I must praise Him in all situations. Because let’s be honest- how good could the truly good moments be without the bad?

I am 100% certain that my Husband & I will experience each of the situations above at least 100 times over the course of our marriage. The only thing that we will be able to hold fast to during those times will be our Creator, our Father.

These verses remind me that in life we must all recognize our purpose. After recognizing our purpose we must then figure out our priorities because we only have one life. And in that one life we will experience many different seasons. But praise the Lord that we know that “He has made everything beautiful in its time…”

That’s Katie and Nate’s verse, too :) I think it was even printed on their wedding program.

It’s a great verse! We actually studied the book of Ecclesiastes this past week at the Institute and this verse has been on my heart a lot recently since Caleb & my future are currently so unclear. Both exciting and frightening! Great reminder that He makes everything beautiful in its time!
