Do it Anyway

feel the fear do it anyways bbb

Over the past few months the Lord has really begun to teach me about comfort zones.  I have always pictured my life a certain way. I thought I would start a career, live in New York City for a a few years, eventually  get married, end up back in SoCal, have a beautiful home, have kids… you know- the whole ‘American dream’ thing. But the more I dig into the Word, the more I truly see what it means to be a Christian {aka a follower of Christ}, the more I realize that the ‘American dream’ is not my dream. Jesus didn’t have the white-picket-fence home. Jesus didn’t have the consistent, successful career. Jesus was ready to move at any given point. But am I? Am I ready to pick up and go?

I never pictured graduating, getting married, and moving back to Dallas.  If I am being honest, Dallas is one of the last places I wanted to go. But that is where the Lord has led us.  And it has been the greatest blessing. The Lord keeps revealing little glimpses into our future and we are overwhelmed by His goodness and His timing. Most of you do not know this, but my husband and I are actually living in my parents old home. They moved to New York City and kept their home here in Texas. Moving into their old home has allowed us to save money and to prepare for the big change coming ahead. This coming change is one of those changes that is going to impact our lives forever. {sorry to be so vague, once the Lord gives us a more definitive direction we will share all the exciting details with you!!} The Lord is pushing us outside of our comfort zones and while we are slightly terrified, we could not be more excited!! God is good and His timing is perfect! While the timing isn’t right {yet} for us to share this upcoming change in our lives, we would appreciate prayers. Prayers for everything- direction, discernment, wisdom, finances, a willingness to follow, etc. Change can be scary. But can also be such a beautiful blessing!

He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
