Each Season has a Purpose

Anyone else ever struggle with being present? Caleb and I have a few trips planned and I am just itching for time to go by quickly so we can hop on the train or plane to get to each destination. Don’t get me wrong- I love the stage of life we are in right now, but I am feeling a bit restless. But in this restlessness, I am reminded that each season has a purpose.

Caleb and I were recently talking about our jobs in NYC and the impact we are making. In Thailand it was so easy to see the fruit of our work and I still keep in contact with my precious students. Being out of our comfort zones in Thailand made the Lord’s presence all the more obvious. We couldn’t help but rely on Him in every instance. But in New York, I can’t always see my purpose in my office- life seems ordinary. I find myself dreaming of different opportunities or various adventures that could take place in the future.

My sweet friend Katie recently shared a post that spoke directly to my heart- and I hope it speaks to yours too. {Seriously, go read it!} Sometimes, monotony has a purpose. This season of being still is our time to plant roots. As Katie says, it is our time to “go deeper” with those around us. The Lord is teaching us, molding us. God is just as active in the waiting as He is in the adventure- we just might need to be a little more intentional in our seeking.

Do you ever struggle with being present or waiting in the monotony?
What could the Lord be teaching you in this season?

Also, any suggestions for the following places? Any tips or recommendations would be hugely helpful!

Can you just pack me in a bag and take me with you! Your up coming trips sound amazing, but you’re so right try to live in the now and done let these days pass to quickly. God is constantly on the move and you don’t want to miss something while waiting for something else!

    xx

Haha Absolutely! It’s always a combination of living in the future and the fear of missing out on everything going on today- we are being pulled in so many directions, sometimes it is hard to be present!
