WHY BEYOND BLESSED?

I believe the little moments in life should be celebrated. We have enough trials in each day and therefore, we need to look for the blessings- big or small. I believe happiness is an emotion and joy is a choice. Each day it is my goal to choose joy and to look for my blessings. Because in reality, we are beyond blessed!

WHAT CAMERA DO YOU USE & WHO TAKES YOUR PHOTOS?

Either my wonderful husband or I take most of the photos. If a photo is taken by another photographer than I give them credit in the specific post.

I upgraded to the Canon 5D Mark III {and I love it} and use a basic 50mm lens, but I have my eye on this lens.  My first camera was a Canon T3i with either the 24mm lens or 50mm lens.  I highly recommend both of these cameras and lenses. I also recommend getting these lens filters, they protect your lens and are SO worth it- there is nothing worse than investing in a lens just to have it scratched..

I also use either my GoPro Hero5 or Nikon for videos, but I really have my eye on this camera for vlogs…

WHAT IS IN YOUR CAMERA BAG?

For starters, if you are going to invest in a camera, I highly recommend investing in a proper camera bag. I’m obsessed with my Lo & Sons bag and could not say enough good things about it. I find myself carrying it even when I’m not carrying my camera.

When traveling, I always bring an external hard drive {this one is durable for traveling & works with any computer}  and a few extra camera disks {I stick to 32GB size disks, just in an attempt to not “keep all my eggs in one basket” & move them over to my external hard drive every night}.

I also love packing my proper tripod into my suitcase and by little tripod in my carryon. You never know when you might need either one!

HOW DID YOU MOVE TO  THAILAND AND HOW LONG DID YOU LIVE THERE?

We moved to a small city in Thailand in 2014 and lived there for one year. My husband studied Thailand in college and was supposed to spend a few months here in 2010. One thing led to another and his trip fell through {which was a blessing because we met and started dating at that time}. Caleb’s heart for Thailand only grew over the next four years. While I always wanted to live abroad, I had envisioned a more glamorous city {aka Paris or a beautiful Italian city}. After a year of marriage and months of prayer, the Lord put Thailand on my heart too. While working full time and working on our Masters degrees full time, we took a TESL/TESOL class online, which allowed us to teach in Asia. We packed up our bags, sold Caleb’s car and moved half way around the world. In Thailand we both taught at a private Christian English program school. I taught 3rd grade {math, science, english, writing, conversation, reading & swimming} and Caleb taught 5th & 6th grade {science, health & sport}. It was possibly the best year of my life!
