For the Blog Lovers & Entrepreneurs

Okay, for those of you who love blogs and have an entrepreneurial spirit, have I got a book for you! My parents’ dear friend (and family friend of ours- Tony Jeary, he has many great books worth reading) recently gave them a book, which they ever so kindly shared with me. It is called “The 4 Essentials of Entrepreneurial Thinking: What Successful People Didn’t Learn in School” by Cliff Michaels.

What makes this book so intriguing is the conversational, “bloggy” language and short stories used throughout it. Although I am just beginning the book, I have to share with you a preview of one of the opening chapters.

As I continue through the book I am almost certain that more blog posts about it will follow. You are welcome to join me as I pursue my career as an entrepreneur!!

“Ever wonder why certain individuals seem smarter, happier or exceptional in their field? Is it luck? Are they born with innate abilities and superior genes? How about supportive parents, special mentors, or dynamic communities? Well, let’s not kid ourselves- these advantages can be a serious leg up in life or business. No doubt, higher education, great teachers, and the best schools are also important. Statistically, those who learn more, earn more. However, not even an advanced degree is a proxy for success (or happiness)… There’s a peak-performance playbook that has nothing to do with opportunity or gifts at birth. Best of all, the playbook has an agnostic set of principles anyone can learn, regardless or age or background. In fact, the playbook assumes most of us are not born with great talent, superior intelligence, or economic privilege. So what do extraordinary people have in common? It’s quite simple… Successful people connect 4 Essentials of Entrepreneurial Thinking.

1.)  Basic Life Skills

2.)  Action Strategies

3.)  Core Values

4.)  Purpose Principles

FACT: We all have gaps.

Consider the talents of great men and women through time. From Greek philosophers to modern moguls, did anyone achieve success at birth? Not even close; including the so-called genius or born entrepreneur.

Sure, many are fortunate to have those great genes, supportive parents, or an environment o foster talent. History tells us however that none of these gifts by themselves produce results.”
