Hope

hope oklahoma

Due to yesterdays events I have decided to postpone my initial post for today. Instead I want to talk about one word. Hope. Disastrous events like yesterday’s tornadoes in Moore remind me of this one word. Hope.

We have hope for what the Lord will do in and through such tragic events.
We find hope in the fact that the community comes together.
We find hope knowing there is a new tomorrow.
We have hope that the Lord will heal the hurt.
We hope that those who are no longer with us are dancing with Jesus.
We have hope in the blessings to come.
We find hope in His coming Promise.

What is your hope in? Things of this earth? Or in the Promise of the Lord? The tornadoes and damage from yesterday are devastating. But the man in the video below says it better than I could myself. “The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away.” Job 1:21

But not only that! We even take pride in our problems, because we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” Romans 5:3-4

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.” Psalm 3:3

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
