You may have noticed a little bit of silence both on the blog and on social media this past week. Normally, I love being engaged and being part of this online community. I’ve genuinely come to know so many incredible women through this platform and could not be more thankful for the friendships I have formed around the world because of this website and social media. But this past week called for some time offline. It was a week filled with family and living in the present.
We live in a world where we are all connected 24/7 and occasionally, we I need the reminder that it is okay to disconnect. Sometimes we need time away from the computer and away from our phones. Emails, calls, texts and posts can wait. Sometimes we need the reminder that we can return calls and texts later, we can put up an ‘out of office’ email response. But we can’t always get back those missed moments. This past week I spent time focusing on family. I put away my phone and prioritized those around me. And while it was difficult, it felt so good to refocus on what matters.
Do you need to take time to disconnect?
How do you make sure you focus on your priorities?

May 12, 2017 at 2:40 pmExcellent reminder! My husband and I have been working on staying off of our phones in the evenings so we can fully focus on one another. It feels so great when we do that!

May 13, 2017 at 12:42 pmSo true! I do this often and it’s nice just to be present and live in the moment. It shows my family that THEY are the most important things in my life, not my phone or computer.
