My Two Fall Lists

My Two Fall Lists

Fall is hands down one of my favorite seasons. I love the symbolism that comes with the changing of the leaves and the coming holiday season.  The changing leaves always reminds me of the quote “Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.”  It’s a reminder I so often need.

Each fall I make two lists. A list of things I plan on letting go of and a list of blessings. It’s time to make room for what matters most by letting go of things that don’t matter or don’t bring me joy. This year, my two fall lists look a little different. I am trying to let go of comparison and my fear of not being enough {and yet being too much at the same time}.

As our baby grows inside of me I find myself comparing to other moms and their circumstances. Will I be a good mom, can I do this, am I getting too big/too small, how can I raise our baby in a 1 bedroom apartment, where will we store all of the baby supplies, etc. The list could go on and on. And as the comparison continues, so do my list of fears.  But this season, I am determined to let my fears and comparisons “fall” away and to then fill that new void with blessings. I’m getting rid of excess and am making room for quality. Since we will be bringing our baby home to a 1 bedroom apartment and space is limited, we are getting rid of the excess. From clothing and kitchen items to décor and odds-and-ends.

This season I’m focusing on filing my life with blessings- big & small. Our growing baby boy, my daily afternoon tea, our loving & supportive families, beautifully made items, community, and things that bring simple pleasures to our day. We are truly focusing on quality over quantity.

What are some things you could let go of this season?

What would be on your list of blessings?

You will likely see me in a lot of classic all black this season with pops of color through beautiful, quality items like this scarf {also seen here & multiple times on my Insta Story} moving forward. I’m downsizing my wardrobe and am only keeping items that are high quality and bring me joy.

Fun fact, this silk scarf is actually made in Italy alongside some of the world’s top designers!  Rinnovo {Italian for “Renewal”} Studio partners with artists to create beautiful, quality scarves. I love the story behind this company and each of their scarves are STUNNING!

An excellent reminder and ritual for fall! Approach life from an “Abundant” vs. a “Lacking” mindset. Release your fears and embrace all of the abundant blessings you have in life to be grateful for. <3
