Prioritize What Matters

Has anyone else noticed a reoccurring theme on the blog recently? My three favorite books right now are A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, Love Does, and Tape Breakers. All three of these books encourage living a good story- a story of love, a story of adventure, a story of clarity & passion. A story that matters.

Jim Akers, the author of Tape Breakers reminds us that it is easy to talk about your dreams and to build your dreams up- but it is another thing to act on these dreams. I love goal sheets, but writing down our goals won’t actually help us to achieve them. We have to act. We have to do things. We need to prioritize what matters.

“If you had 30 seconds to summarize your current story, what picture would it paint? Would it place you on a journey towards lasting and sustainable impact? Your best story will be produced by directing your time, talent and resources in pursuit of [what matters most to you].” {Jim Akers}

Bob Goff reminds us “the battle for happiness is fought on the pages of our calendars.” Does your calendar reflect your goals, dreams and passions? Or do you simply try to squeeze them in when you have a little extra time left over?

Let’s do our best to cut out the things that don’t matter. Let’s make time for our passions and dreams. Let’s fight to make what matters most a priority on our calendars!

What do you want to make more time for?
