made me feel like flying…

S P R I N G is finally here and I could not be more thankful!! To say that I am ready for the warmth of the sun to continuously shine down on my face is an understatement.

I love this time of year. Flowers begin to bloom and trees begin to produce vibrant, lime green colored leaves. Everything about spring fills me with joy (okay, except allergies… allergies don’t fill me with joy). But it’s out with the old and in with the new.

Usually this time of year I begin doing some spring cleaning. I get rid of what I don’t need and reorganize my physical life. But because my husband and I have already begun to simplify our lives, I am able to focus on cleaning out the clutter in my soul.

This spring I want more of what matters and less of things that don’t. I want more of what inspires me and fills my cup and less of what drains me. I want to surround myself with people who build me up and encourage me to be the person God created me to be and less of people who are okay with being complacent.

Bob Goff encourages us to quit something on Thursday. Well, it’s  Thursday. So today I’m quitting negativity. I’m choosing joy. Even when my circumstance isn’t ideal.

Yesterday my mom taught me an acronym. JOY. Choosing joy is choosing Jesus Over You. So this spring is about choosing joy. It’s about choosing to recognize your blessings and choosing to bless others. This spring, choose joy & choose blessed.
