Staying by the Arc de Triomphe :: Sofitel Hotel

Paris is one of the most popular destinations to visit in the world and therefore, it has no shortage of luxury hotels. However, if you want to ensure your visit to Paris is filled with not only the comforts of a five star hotel, but also captures the authentic charm of Paris, then I highly recommend staying at the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe. We loved how close this hotel was to not only the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe, but also to a major metro line. And to say the service was incredible would be an understatement.

In true five star service, the doormen grabbed our suitcases as we hopped out of our taxi and brought them directly to our room. We then entered the lobby {which had the most beautiful floral arrangements}, checked in and were quickly brought up to our third floor {fourth by US standards} luxury room which had a European king size bed, a Nespresso machine, Hermès bath products, plush robes and a proper sitting/dining area. The modern room design helped maximize space and was lit up by the large iconic Parisian windows, which were complete with wrought-iron detailing and white curtains. Yes, my heart did skip a beat when I first saw the windows and the view.

After settling in we headed downstairs for lunch. Normally I stay away from hotel restaurants {especially in Paris where there are so many incredible places to eat}. However, when we learned the restaurant was opened in collaboration with Chef Christian Constant {from Top Chef} we had to make a reservation. Truly, it was one of the best meals I have ever had. If you are planning a trip to Paris you must make a reservation at Les Cocottes- you will thank me later. I was actually shocked by how many locals were dining in the restaurant. We went for lunch, enjoyed a three course meal and left convinced we needed one of his cookbooks. The food, service and wine were all divine.

Each evening we returned to the hotel to find a beautiful selection of sweet treats and clementines in our room. So naturally, our first night we ordered a bottle of wine and a selection of cheeses from room service. It became our nightly routine to relax while enjoying our treats and discuss our plans for the next day. It was always the perfect ending to the day.

We also started each morning with breakfast at the hotel. You know it is going to be a great day when your morning starts with your own French Press of coffee, a full selection of pastries, eggs, cheeses, meats, yogurts, fruits, crepes {with homemade Nutella} and a few different freshly squeezed juices {my favorite was the grapefruit}. They even had an array of gluten free pastries set aside for anyone who felt so inclined.

The Sofitel Arc de Triomphe was the perfect home base for our time in Paris and I would return in a heart beat!

I just got back from Paris a month ago and I stayed close to The Louve! It’s so nice being close to landmarks, especially because metros are all around it! It looks like a beautiful hotel, thanks for sharing!

Ahh so fun Emily! Couldn’t agree more- it is so nice staying near landmarks! When you plan your next trip to Paris, be sure to keep this hotel in mind. I stayed near the Louvre on our previous trip and loved it, but it is fun to change up locations every now and then for a new perspective! xox

Great shots! I stayed near this hotel which also stocked their bathrooms with Hermès goodies! I sweet-talked the maid into giving me a box of the Hermès Orange verte shower gels! HAHAHA! Lovely shots!

I always look for comfort, great breakfast, convenience to sites and cleanliness when searching for a hotel. From these pics and your description, this one seems to have all of the above. I definitely get some Parisian vibes from the looks of this hotel. Those pastries sure look yummy too :)

Sounds like a wonderful experience. I go to the Met Museum in NYC just to check out their floral arrangements. Everything about the sofitel looked perfect and you looked so cozy in your robes!

Your stay looks divine! I don’t think we’ve ever had a ‘good’ stay at a sofitel property. They’ve all been ‘incredible!’ We’ll make sure to put Les Cocottes on our to visit list!

If it’s my personal travel I look for authenticity/history, laidback friendliness, and/or location – which one comes first depends on the destination :)

I feel hungry after reading this review haha
