The Secret to Cheap Broadway Show Tickets

When you think of New York City, one of the first things most people think of are the Broadway plays. I have loved the theater for as long as I can remember so each trip to the City always include at least one show. On Husband and my last trip to the Big Apple we really hit the jack pot. Over the past 7 months my parents have really taken advantage of the City’s many discount groups and have seen a plethora of shows. They even bought my Husband and I tickets to some of their favorites. One of our new favorite Off-Broadway plays is called “How to be a New Yorker.” My parents have actually seen it 4 times! It was hysterical and even included dinner. It was a great double date night with my parents. I wish I had taken more photos, but here are some photos from a few of our favorites! I highly recommend the four following plays. And we learned a secret on how to get cheap tickets! If you show up 2 hours early you can put your name in a raffle to possibly win 2 tickets for $30 a piece! Not all shows do this, but a lot do. It’s worth a shot!

Spider Man

Spider Man (We sat on the mezanine and highly recommend it since there is so much flying over the audience)

Newsies (All seats would be great! Incredible dancing, so if you want to see the big picture I'd recommend the mezzanine. But up close you can see more details and feel like you are part of the show. All great seats!

Newsies (This show & Wicked tie as my top favorites from this trip. All seats would be great! Incredible dancing, so if you want to see the big picture I’d recommend the mezzanine. But up close you can see more details and feel like you are part of the show.)

Wicked

Wicked (We were front row center and it was incredible! We even spoke with the conductor during the intermission. Incredible talent in this show! Incredible! I don’t think there is a single bad seat for this show)

Breakfast at Tiffany's (One of my favorite movies! It's a smaller theater so I think every seat is probably great!)

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (One of my favorite movies! It’s a smaller theater so I think every seat is probably great! Warning- there is full nudity both male & female in one scene)
