2 Weeks in Italy Itinerary

Our Italy trip finally happened and now our trip is finally making it on the blog! Our 2020 trip was pushed to 2021, but the good news is- this delay meant I was no longer traveling while pregnant {hello wine & unpasteurized cheese!} and we got to have our precious bambino join! And it meant we had ample time to create the perfect 2 weeks in Italy itinerary!

We thoroughly enjoyed every city we visited and you can view details on each city by clicking the links in the itinerary below. But in the meantime, here is a quick overview of our 2 weeks in Italy itinerary! If you need suggestions for other cities in Italy, check out this page for more itineraries and suggestions!

  • Day 8 – Como to Verona
  • Day 9 – Verona

Changes I Would Make Next Time

Honestly, if we had the same number of days to plan the same trip- I wouldn’t change a thing! For details on each city we visited, click the city links above! I spell out all the details in my ‘what to do in xyz’ guides!

Having said that, I would have loved an extra day in Como. And if you visit in the warmer months, I would add an extra couple of days. One of our days in Como was for a wedding, so if that full day was free we would have explored more of Como. Because of the wedding, we didn’t explore quite as much as I would have liked. But I 100% recommend attending a wedding on Lake Como!! You can read more about Como here!

If we had more time, I would have spent some time in Florence {I haven’t been since middle school} and I would also love to return to Venice & Rome again sometime.

We flew out of Pisa due to flight options. Actually, we were supposed to fly out of Bologne, but our flight was cancelled last minute and we had to change our plans. And honestly I was pleasantly surprised by Pisa. It’s much cuter than I expected! I still wouldn’t spend much time there, but it was still a nice surprise!

Wow, this was quite an itinerary to do with small kids! They seem to have enjoyed it just as much as you did. I love Lake Como and I think it’s a great destination for families with small children because of the water.

It looks like you had quite a relaxed itinerary and managed to see plenty by staying longer in the same place. I am not a fan of Milano but I love Como. I have actually been there on a weekend trip a couple of months ago and really loved it. It was the first time I explored the villages around the lake and I couldn’t pick a favourite, they were all so cute. Food in Como was pretty incredible as well, there are some lovely authentic restaurants around the old town.

Woooohooooo… Italy is my fav country to visit. It has such rich history, nature, and food. I really need to plan my next trip to Italy. I’m yet to visit Como and Verona and I need to visit southern Italy as well. You’re right, in warmer months, you can’t get enough of Como and also the smaller towns in Florence.

I love hearing when someone says if they were to do the trip again, they wouldn’t change a thing! That means it created some special memories for you and your family. I love Italy and have yet to visit Como, and that is definitely high on my list to go. Seeing and reading this article makes me long for Italy, thanks for the flashback and the inspiration.

Your post on two weeks in Italy reminds me of how much we want to get back to Italy. And you visited some of our favourite spots. Although we need to plan some time around Lake Como on a return trip. And can there ever be enough time in Tuscany? We sure hope to get Italy back on the travel plans. But it would be hard to pick a favourite city.

You had a great family trip to Northern Italy. You have planned the route and attractions very well. I can see that the whole family had a great time. Kids had a lot of fun as well. It’s a great and valuable itinerary, espacially for families. My favorite region is Tuscany, but I also like cosmopolitan Milan and Lake Como.

Those family photos are amazing! It seems you really enjoyed your trip. I have not visited Como or Pisa but I really would like to visit it one day, Venice is amazing. Your itinerary is a great suggestion for my next trip to Italy.

How perfect that the trip delay allowed you to enjoy the wine and cheese in Italy, and also to bring along your new little one. (His big, beautiful smile is just like yours! ❤️) The itinerary does look perfect. I’ve been to Tuscany but would like to see northern Italy, like Milan and Lake Como next time I return to Italy. Usually, I travel solo or with my significant other, but looking at your photos makes me want to bring the whole family!
