2018 Goals

Anyone else a huge fan of goal setting? Each year Caleb & I have a coffee date where we sit down and tangibly write out our goals- the big, the small and all of the in-between. After having read a plethora of books and articles about goal setting, I actually created my own ‘goal setting’ PDF sheets to help us focus on what really matters {email me if you want a copy of them}. Once we’ve written down all of our goals we number them and determine which goals we want to make our priorities for the year.

If I am being completely honest, we haven’t had time to set this date yet since we have been traveling so much- but I am hoping we set aside a few hours to do it this weekend! Below are just a few goals I hope to focus on in 2018!

Personal

1.) Be present. I tend to live in the future, as I am always looking forward to the next big ‘thing’- whether that be a trip, our bébés arrival, etc. In 2018 I want to slow down and remember to be present.

2.) Be intentional. With 4 new babies entering our friend group, my parents moving to San Francisco from NYC and big life changes happening all around, I want to be intentional with my time. In 2018 I want to spend more intentional time with friends, intentional time in the Word, and intentional time with family.

3.) Try new things. I know- life with a bébé is going to be all new in itself. But I also want to continue trying new things. I would love to take couples dance classes, cooking classes, explore new areas of NYC and just overall be adventurous. Not to be cliché or anything, but we only get one life and I want to enjoy every bit of it!

4.) Get organized. I’m embarrassed to admit Caleb is definitely the tidier of us two. I am very organized when it comes to schedules and setting things up, but when it comes to physically putting clothes away and unpacking, I am definitely the slacker. But in 2018 I am determined to clear the clutter and be organized!

Blog

1.) Post regularly. I am determined to post at least 2-3 times a week in 2018. I was actually somewhat decent about it in 2017… until the end of the year really. But in 2018 I will stick to my content calendar!

2.) Vlog more. I started out 2017 strong with making vlogs and then quickly got behind. I really love creating videos and love how I can quickly reflect on certain moments/trips/seasons by simply watching an old video. In 2018 I WILL be creating more videos- especially because I want to remember every moment with Baby C!

3.) Use Pinterest more. I always forget to make ‘pinable’ images for my blog posts! I use Pinterest when searching for travel ideas, food inspiration or photo ideas- so why don’t I use it more for my own website? In 2018 I will get better about this! If you don’t already, go follow me on Pinterest!

Travel

1.) Visit family more. Our family is completely spread out from coast to coast and in 2018 I want to be more intentional about spending time with everyone. Our little guy arrives in March and we hope to make trips to California, Georgia and Florida in June/July. As the year continues, I would love to plan other trips to meet up with family in other parts of the country as well!

2.) Travel internationally. We already have a trip planned to Bermuda the last weekend in May {booked prior to finding out we were pregnant}. So our little guy will get his first passport stamped at the ripe age of 2 months old. {Don’t worry, it’s a quick flight and we know a plethora of people who have traveled even further with a 2 month old} We also have plans to go to Italy later in 2018, but those dates and locations are still TBD. Any Italy suggestions?

{I have been seriously LIVING in this navy dress while pregnant. It is beyond comfortable and adjusts so well with my growing bump.
I have a feeling it will be a go-to even after pregnancy because the material is so comfortable!}

    First, you look amazing! Secondly, I love your goals! Especially the be intentional. I’m expecting my first baby in April as well and I can’t help but think I don’t want to miss anything in his life but also in life in general. Also, can you email me your goal sheet?!
