I’m a firm believer in the power of prayer. And I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is to spend time covering them in prayer. I have peace knowing, that while I can’t always be with them, God can. Praying over our kids is one of the most intentional ways we can cover their lives, shape their hearts, and point them toward Him. Here are five powerful prayers to pray for your kids every day:

1. Pray for Their Protection
Ask God to shield your kids physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Pray that he keeps them safe from harm, guards their hearts against negativity, and protects their minds from lies and fear.

2. Pray for Their Purpose
Ask God to guide them as they discover who he created them to be.
Pray that they recognize their unique gifts and talents and calling, and that they have the courage to walk in his plan for their lives.

3. Pray for Their Character
Pray that God shapes their hearts to reflect him.
Ask for humility and kindness and integrity to take root in their lives.
Pray that they grow into people who love God and love others well.

4. Pray for Their Faith
Ask God to draw their hearts towards him every single day.
Pray that they know his voice, that they trust his promises, and lean on him in every season of their lives.

5. Pray for Their Spouse
Ask God to prepare the heart of your child’s future spouse even now.
Pray that their spouse will come to know, love, and serve the Lord with their whole heart. Pray that they are being shaped into a person of integrity, faith, and kindness.
Ask God to protect them, guide their steps, and surround them with godly influences. Pray that together they will build a marriage rooted in Christ and a home filled with love, joy, and faithfulness.
I will be the first to admit that parenting is hard and I struggle/fail daily. But I will continue showing up and praying hard for my little men! And I know where I fail, God succeeds. This is simply my little encouragement for you to take time today to lift your kids up in prayer and to trust that He is working in their lives in ways seen and unseen!
