A Taste of My Heritage

There are very few recipes that I know by heart, but blintze is definitely one of them. Due to the fact that my mother is 100% Russian I have been raised loving and enjoying my heritage. For those of you who don’t know what blintze is, it is the Russian version of the crepe- and it is oh so yummy. Today my mother and I got to spend some quality mother-daughter bonding time while making a few dozen of these little pieces of heaven. While it is completely normal for my family to make a few dozen blintze at a time, we normally freeze majority of them to heat them up at a later date… But not today! We made these today specifically to share them with everyone at the bridal shower on Saturday. We will also be serving them at the champagne brunch the morning after Caleb and my wedding! My grandmother will be flying out at a later date to help us make them for that event because naturally, grandma’s blintzes are the best. You can eat them plain or filled with fruit, Nutella, cottage cheese, meats, or a plethora of other goodies. So simple to make and so delightful! Enjoy!

If you try it I would love to hear how you prepared it! Or if you have already had it before, your favorite way to eat blintze/crepes!

Our family recipe… But we altered it slightly and make them without the sugar, just a pinch of salt and add Mexican vanilla. It’s supposed to be a family recipe- but it is too good not to share!

In the midst of cooking

And the piles begin!

I have always bought the pre made crepes and add Nutella. I didn’t realize they were so easy to make! Can’t wait to try them!! Thanks!
