Are you good enough?

Better question, do you feel you are adequate enough for the Lord to use you in huge ways?

Last night at Lifestream we studied a story from the Bible I am sure you are familiar with. We read the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000+ in John 6 and Mark 8 (this story is in all four gospels and Jesus does this miracle twice). Although I have read or heard this story of plethora of times, last night it was presented in a way I had never thought about.

In this story Jesus has spent the day speaking to thousands of men, women and children. As the day comes to an end, the disciples recommend to Jesus that he should send the people home so they may cook dinner. Instead Jesus tells the disciples that they shall feed the thousands.

Being human, the disciples begun to think about the cost of this. They had hardly any money and even less food. The only food that they had came from a little boy. This boy had five loaves of bread and two fish. That’s it.

With these five loaves of bread and two fish Jesus fed the thousands. He took very little and did a lot.

We are like the little boy in this story. So often we think we have so little to offer, but look what Jesus did with him.

We are holding two fish and five loaves of bread and there are many people around us who need to eat. What are you going to do with the things the Lord has blessed you with?

Don’t be afraid and don’t think you are inadequate.
God chooses to act in accordance to our obedience.

Be bold. Be intentional. Be obedient.
