Are you living?
Okay, that question sounds crazy, I’ll admit. But think about it, are you really living? Or are you just waiting in anticipation of something to come in the future? A date to come, to find a job, to graduate, an event, etc.
So frequently I fear that we (I) get caught up in our goals that we forget to enjoy the journey. John 10:10 reminds us that God sent Jesus so that we may have life and live it to the fullest. When I read this verse I don’t think that God meant for us to simply live passively. I believe He wants us to live spiritually rich and abundantly full lives! I also believe the only way to achieve this is by actively searching for the Lord and diligently reading His “Love Letter” to us (the Bible).
I will admit (and it breaks my heart that this is true), there are days I hit my snooze button and don’t do my morning quiet time. But the days I do start out my day with the Lord are always my most joyful days- these are the days I truely feel alive.
Starting now, my goal is to start being much more intentional about living each day to the fullest. It is a gift and we can’t get it back.
