“There isn’t a diamond in the room that sparkles like a woman in love.” -How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
It is so true. There is something so enchanting about a bride on her wedding day. From the twinkle in her eye, her glowing smile, to the sheer happiness that radiates from her every move. With many of my friends getting married (and my own wedding just a couple of months away) I have been scouring through a plethora of wedding blogs, magazines and pictures. While I am sure each of the women captured in these images are just as beautiful every other day of the year, there is that undeniable light beaming from her.
Well, this morning I began my day in the book of Hosea. In it I was reminded that we, the members of the church, are Christ’s bride- today and everyday.
“I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine…” Hosea 2:19-20
Doesn’t this mean that because of our love for Him we should be radiant everyday? The moment the church doors open and the bride enters the room, the sheer love and joy on both the bride and grooms face is overwhelmingly beautiful. Should that same love and joy not be present when we look to our Father daily?
“They looked to Him and were radiant.”
Psalm 34:5
