Give Thanks

Thanksgiving is hands down one of my favorite times of the year. My family has always made a huge deal out of holidays- from the decor to the celebration. We have a plethora of traditions. And this year, Caleb and I had the honor of hosting our first major holiday! To make this occasion even more special, we had the gift of hosting my in-laws first trip to New York {ever}!

This Thanksgiving both my in-laws & my parents joined us for our big holiday meal, which means the living room in our one bedroom apartment became our sitting room, dining room, and at night- our bedroom. And you know what? It was perfect!

Living in a tiny space has helped us clear the clutter- both physically and mentally. We don’t have the space to store items that don’t bring us joy or serve a purpose. Having fewer items and a smaller home means we spend less time with day-to-day upkeep and more time living and in community.

This Thanksgiving was a beautiful reminder of how little we really need and how blessed we truly are. Abba provides exactly what we need, when we need it.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above…” James 1:17

Despite our small space, we were also able to continue my grandmother’s legacy of setting the table. We are beyond excited to have hosted our first holiday and look forward to many more!

Do you have any holiday traditions or stories from around your holiday table?

{somehow I managed to only take pictures of appetizers & skipped the actual holiday meal…
at least we have some pictures to show off my dad’s beautiful table setting skills.
**Fun fact, the pilgrim candles on the table have been present
every Thanksgiving my parents have celebrated together! }
