Well, we are here and we are finally getting settled in. And we could not be happier! It is “hot season” here in Nakhon so we are incredibly thankful that we spent the last year of our lives living in Texas {hello summer heat!}. And praise the Lord the rain decided to show up in NST when we did!
In the past 48 hours we finally found a house {Nakhon doesn’t have apartments} and a motorbike. The Lord has been so faithful. We are actually renting the house from our boss and we also bought one of his motorbikes. Yes, we own a motorbike. And yes, we drive it everywhere. Terrifying and exhilarating- well, I’m sure it will exhilarating once I get used to weaving through traffic. Driving through Nakhon will definitely help inspire your prayer life! Did I mention that we drive on the opposite side of the road and that the only rule on the road is that bikers must wear a helmet? Stop signs are optional and red lights appear to be a suggestion. Yikes!
Overall, I could not be happier. Our hot little house {no AC in 90-100 degrees- yikes} feels like home. We are overwhelmed by God’s goodness. Last night was our first night in our new home and we spent the evening praying in each room. We cannot wait to see what the Lord does in and through this home. The relationships we will build, the people we will meet, and the relationships that will grow. Glory to God. Now we just have to add some furnishings and make the place home.
Tomorrow we start work. We cannot wait to meet our coworkers and precious little kiddos! The people here are so wonderful- even though we have only met a couple of english speaking Thais. Caleb and I walk around carrying our Thai phrase book and we all laugh as we try to understand each other.
I have only taken my camera out once because the rain pops up without any warning. But here are a few pictures of our Thai city so far. Cannot wait to explore more!!
so exciting! I love how the Lord provided and is faithful. I call them everyday miracles! what an exciting beginning to your journey! I am a new follower and excited to be here!
