There are few places more magical than New York City. Where else can you find hundreds of different cultures, delicious & authentic food, historical landmarks, incredible community, museums & art galore, beaches and family in a 10-mile radius? But above all, one of the things I love most about New York City is how it strengthens my faith.
Francis Chan once stated, “spiritual muscles have to be continuously exercised and your heart for the things of God has to be regularly stimulated.” It can be so easy to get into a routine and forget to exercise our spiritual muscles, but here in New York we are constantly pushed outside of our comfort zone. We are forced to see both the beauty and the ugly in the world.
It’s Friday, which means most of us get a couple days to relax and spend time with loved ones. This weekend, I want to encourage you to exercise your spiritual muscles. Try something new, get out of your comfort zone, volunteer somewhere, or simply spend extra time connecting with Yahweh. {or if you are feeling really adventurous- hop on a plane and come to NYC ;) i love making new friends!}
Remember, nobody’s faith starts strong- you have to strengthen it.
I’ve never been to New York and I would love to go one day!
