I wish that I had kept count of how many times I came across verses that spoke about this topic- this week alone. While majority of these verses came from the book of 1 Peter, I also came across them in various other books (such as Proverbs, 2 Corinthians and James). Obviously, the Lord is trying to teach me something. 1 Peter really emphasizes the idea that as Christians we are called to be strangers on this earth. We are to live differently and to be living examples of Christ.
The more I thought about this the more I realized that if we lived with thing kind of integrity not only would people gravitate towards Jesus, but we would also be more likely to be successful in the business world. People want to work with people with strong ethics. I previously posted the key qualities required to be successful in business and life as found by Cliff Michaels. He had found that above all “integrity, humility, respect and gratitude” were the highest rated qualities desired in an individual, employee and partner. Join me in being much more intentional about exemplifying only desired qualities!
Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. 1 Peter 2:12
We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. 2 Corinthians 6:3
