Living and Loving are Synonymous

Have you ever typed love into your phone and had your phone autocorrect it to say live? Well, I believe that’s because living and loving are synonymous. It’s not about your day job or where you are physically going on your next trip- it’s about how you live every moment of your life- every day.

I recently reread my highlights from Bob Goff’s book “Love Does” {a must read} and was reminded how inspiring life can be when you simply show up. Sometimes we get so caught up in the planning, goal setting and orchestrating that we for get to really live.  Bob said,

“Living a life fully engaged and full of whimsy and doing the kind of things that love does is something most people plan to do, but along the way they just kind of forget. Their dreams become one of those “we’ll go there next time” deferrals. The sad thing is, for many there is no “next time” because passing on the chance to cross over is an overall attitude toward life rather than a single decision.”  

So how do you live a life of love? It has to be a choice. It’s one thing to be in love with someone or to love something, it’s another to intentionally choose to live a life of love. When you choose to live a life of love, you are choosing to live fully engaged. You are choosing to change your attitude towards life. You are choosing to live with abandon. You are choosing to say yes and see what happens. You are choosing to live in the present.

Love simply lives life, rather than talking about it or worrying about it. Sometimes you just have to say yes, and see what happens. Today I want to encourage you to live a life of love. Be present, be fully engaged, say yes to adventure. Sometimes we need the reminder to let go of our itinerary and just show up! Because love goes on adventures!
