Loud Whispers

Is it possible for your heart to explode from pure joy? While I knew the Lord had given me a heart for Nakhon and for the people of this city, I don’t think I realized just how much strong He would make my love for my students. I don’t know if I could love them more if they were my own flesh and bones. Today is Friday which means our day is filled with tests. They are students, so of course they are not thrilled to be taking tests. But goodness, they were so well behaved. During their math test they sat quietly and worked hard- which means I got to walk around and pray over my students. It was such a sweet 50 minutes of prayer.kiddos

Over the past 5 weeks I have gotten to know their personalities and the little ways the Lord has made them unique. {yes, we just completed our 5th week of teaching- where has the time gone?!} During math I got to pray specifically for each child. I am humbled that the Lord has chosen to share His precious little children with me. Each student has blessed me with his/her personality. I am honored that I get to pray specifically into each child’s needs. I am beginning to know their strengths and weaknesses, their hopes and their fears. It is beautiful. It could not bring me more joy knowing that the Lord brought me here, to this school, at this time specifically- to love on and pray for these children. I have no prior teaching experience nor do I have any real training for teaching, so anything my students learn is purely from the Lord using me as a vessel. It is humbling to know that it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with Him. All glory goes to God. And I could not be more thankful.

Everything I do, every step I take- it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with Him. Our lives are completely for His glory. Regardless of where we are or what we are doing.

I seriously teared up a bit when I read this, because it’s so amazing. I just helped my sister lead her last day of summer school last week, and even after four hours I loved those kids and was sad it was over. It’s amazing how special teaching is and how it affects our hearts. You have an awesome assignment over there and it’s so cool to hear about your experiences!
