Preparing for Paris

It’s official! Not only have we almost finished preparing for Paris and planning our trip to France in December/January, but we also booked a photographer to chase us around one of our mornings in Paris! If I could I would also like to give a big thanks to https://www.parisattractions.com for helping us with our itinerary! They really helped us plan out our trip and find cool spots. And I could not be more excited {and thankful that my hubby is willing/somewhat excited for the shoot}!! Photos are my love language. And let’s be honest, can you imagine a more perfect souvenir to bring home?

Just thinking about the tall and aspiring Eifel Tower, followed by a wonderful lunch by the water, and perhaps a candlelit dinner at an elegant restaurant. Anything is possible on our trip and I am so excited. Being able to take off on this one of a time trip has me practically floating off my feet!

I’ve already begun dreaming of a few fun outfit ideas for the shoot. Any suggestions? Imagine the Eiffel Tower, Pont Alexandre III and a chic little Paris cafe! I’m dreaming of everything from full tutu skirts & ball gowns to sleek/simple looks to let the beauty of Paris do the talking. I’m also trying to keep in mind that it will be quite chilly outside during our early morning/winter shoot. Oh yeah, and it has to fit into my suitcase without taking up the entire space…

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I loved visiting Paris! You are going to have so much fun. I wish I had a photographer. I would also recommend capturing some photos in their gardens. While the flowers may not be in full bloom, the overall scenery is gorgeous and a part of the city I miss.

I went to Paris this past May and it was amazing and perfect weather. You will have good weather as well! Be sure to pack comfy walking shoes. I bought Tom’s and although they aren’t the most fashion forward, they were my savior. A blanket scarf will keep you (maybe someone else) warm while sitting under the Eiffel Tower, maybe use it as an actual blanket to sit on. Have fun and eat lots of cheese, bread and pastries!

I LOVE the ball gown, but I am not sure how well it would fit in a suitcase! I hope you have fun! I have a blog post about my time in Paris in 2013. I would agree with Anita on wearing comfortable shoes, if you are going to be doing a lot of walking! I would love to dress up and have the Eiffel Tower in the background!

Love this!! I vote something BIG so you feel like Blair Waldorf as you parade around Paris :) Not sure how you can fit it into your suitcase though… But that is my vote! :)

How exciting! I think you have to do the classic tulle skirt shot while you’re there! Just use one of those vacuum bags to pack it and it’ll shrink down to a minuscule size for your suitcase. (Pack all of your clothes that way, so you can take a LOT!) I can’t wait to see the pics.
