Thanksgiving Challenge

beyond-blessed-39

When you are surrounded by the colors of the fall and life is taking place all around you, it is easy to be thankful. This past weekend Caleb & I spent our days meandering Central Park and soaking in the last bit of fall. It was gorgeous. We all have so much to be thankful for- regardless of our current circumstances.

With Thanksgiving literally a couple days away, we are all thinking about what we are thankful for. While I try to remember to count my blessings year round, it really is just easier this time of year. The holidays bring loved ones together {friends & family, near & far} and we are all celebrating life.

At one of our recent friendsgivings, my girl friends and I were discussing both the blessings and the trials currently in our lives. {Can I get an amen for the beauty of good girl friends & community?!} One of my friends shared a struggle of hers and how she had started listing a few things she was thankful for each morning as she started her day. It is an idea that is so easy to do, but also so easy not to do.

Now, one of my goals for the new year is to start my day by thinking about three things I am thankful for- big or small. I actually implemented this goal the day after our friendsgiving and it has already brought so much joy into my life! I would love it if you would join me in this challenge!

What is one {or three if you feel ambitious} thing you are thankful for today?

Beautiful pictures! I’m so thankful today that I have a steady income with a job that allows me to work at home. So many of my friends are struggling with jobs and money right now.

This is a great challenge. I’ve already implemented this in my life and have seen such a difference. It’s so easy to focus on the negative things that we forget that there are many positive things that have happened too. Today, I am thankful for being able to not allow my fears to overwhelm me and instead pray. I was able to get an answer quickly.

I love Central Park!!! I haven’t been since last year during Christmas. I agree that being thankful is much easier to think about during the holidays. There are so many without or alone during the holidays. It reminds you to count your blessings. However; I do try to keep in mind all the time that even if I don’t have everything in life, that there are still so many things to be thankful for.
