The Best Spots in Paris for Photos

Paris is one of the most picturesque cities in the world! It seems just about every street corner is worth photographing. After many trips to the City of Light & Love, I’ve finally narrowed it down to my favorite go-to places for photos. If you visit any of the places listed below, you are pretty much guaranteed to come home with photos worth printing and cherishing! In my opinion, these are the best spots in Paris for photos!

  • Arc de Triomphe :: Head to the Champs-Élysées for a classic walking-across-the-street shot or find a lamp post near the roundabout! The view from the top is gorgeous as well! {seen here, here and here}
  • Bridges :: Just about every bridge in Paris has the most romantic views! I shared my favorite bridge. {Ponte Alexander III below, but all of them are gorgeous!} {seen here}
  • Cafés :: You can find a cute café on just about every street corner in Paris. Of course, there are classics like Café de Flore- but there are hundreds of photo worthy cafés in Paris! {seen here, here and here}
  • Doors on Ile Saint Louis :: The doors in Paris are a piece of art in themselves. But the doors on the Ile Saint Louis are some of my favorites! {seen here and here}
  • Eiffel Tower
    • Trocadero :: Best first thing in the morning. This place gets BUSY! But it gets busy for a reason. The views are spectacular! {seen here, here, here and here}
    • From the Seine :: Head down to the Seine between the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero. There are some stunning views from down here and there are usually a lot less people. {seen here}
    • Bir Hakeim Bridge :: This bridge is gorgeous any time of day for photos. It’s also great when it rains since it is covered, but you can still see the Eiffel Tower in the background
    • Avenue de Camoëns :: I honestly hesitated to type this one out because it’s a little bit more secret than the other options. Yes, a handful of people know about it and you’ve likely seen photos from here {like this one or this one}. But the actual street name isn’t in many places. This is my favorite spot for natural photos with both Parisian architecture and the Eiffel Tower. {also seen here}
    • Avenue Silvestre de Sacy :: Right by the base of the Eiffel Tower. Head to the corder of Avenue Silvestre de Sacy and Avenue de la Bourdonnais for a beautiful view of classic Parisian architecture & views of the Eiffel Tower.
    • Carousel :: There is a carousel just below the Eiffel Tower by the Seine and another one closer to the Trocadero. Both add a fun, whimsical touch to the Eiffel Tower. {fourth photo here}
  • Gardens
    • Jardin des Tuileries :: The perfectly trimmed trees and stunning architecture are gorgeous for photos!
    • Jardin du Luxembourg :: The flowers are always spectacular and the pond and gorgeous architecture make for a beautiful backdrop any time of year! It’s really fun with kids and the sailboats in the summer! {fifth photo here}
  • Louvre :: The Louvre gets crowded fast, so come early. But there are so many gorgeous places to shoot in the area- from the Louvre pyramids to the general architecture. There is so much to see! {seen here, here, here and here}
  • Notre Dame :: The Notre Dame will likely be under construction for many years to come, so depending on what the current construction looks like when you visit.
    • I always start at the back. In my opinion the back of the Notre Dame is the prettiest part. {seen here}
    • I also love the view of the Notre Dame when you cross the river to the Left Bank and head down by the Seine. Try taking photos down by the Seine with the Notre Dame in the background. {seen here}
    • Stay on the Left Bank and enjoy the front view of the Notre Dame in the background and the bookstalls in the foreground. It’s so classically Paris!
  • Palais Royal :: The architecture here is incredible! The structures make for the perfect backdrop for style shots, family shots or really just about anything! {seen here, here and here}
  • Place Dauphine :: This square is one of my favorite places to rest in the midst of a busy day. I really love it in the fall, but it’s picturesque year round. {seen here}
  • Ponte Alexander III :: In my opinion this is the prettiest bridge in Paris. The bridge itself is stunning for photographs and you can see the Eiffel Tower in the background as well. If you want photos ON the bridge it’s best to get there in the morning. If you want pictures down by the Seine with the bridge in the background, you can come any time of the day. {Seen here, here and here}
  • Seine :: I love photos down by the Seine. From simple strolls to extravagant picnics. I especially love shots by the Seine across from the Notre Dame. {seen here and here}
  • Streets :: The buildings are stunning on their own, but I love when I find a charming cobblestone street. {seen here & here}

    Your photos and tips brought back great memories of Paris. We loved catching the bridges from the water. And it was great to see everyday life sitting in a cafe. Love the great green space inside the city. But I must admit we have thousands of pics of Notre Dame. So I refuse to let hubby take his camera when we go back.

    Don’t forget the iconic bakeries .. those with the really ornate exteriors and Art Deco or Art Nuevo writing – and if there’s a wicker basket of baguettes in the window, or a shelf full of croissants .. then that all adds to the ambiance. Quintessentially French.

    There is definitely so many great spots in Paris that it is hard to choose which one to go to. This is a great guide for that. I love all the little allies and store fronts where you might even occasionally be able to get a photo with no other people in it. I think I have totally missed visiting these gardens so next time I must head over to them.

    This is indeed one helpful post. I have seen quite a few pictures of Paris on various platforms, but this is the first time I have actually stumbled upon a list. Really loved all your photos, that you ave captured all over Paris. What I loved was to read about the different places to get a good shot with the Eiffel Tower in the backdrop.

    Gosh, I wish I had this post when I went to Paris. Not complaining but I could have done better with my pics. Is the Arc de Triomph always this crowded? I think I managed to get the Eiffel tower from the bridge that you mentioned as well as the carousel. Maybe the next time I will have better luck with the other places

    I have never been to Paris till now and how I wish I had during my 6 weeks backpack in Europe last year. Paris is truly beautiful as all the pictures including yours have all been so amazing and pretty. I want to stay in a hotel right opposite to the Eiffle tower and that is my dream. I will keep a note of these places so I can visit them when I plan to Paris.

    Nice photo guide to Paris, thanks for putting this together! It’s surely a great help for any photography lover looking for the perfect spot. I particularly like your shots with the Eiffel Tower, so pretty. I’m saving this for the next time I’m in town :)
