Paris is considered the city of love and lights for a reason. To say it is magical would be an understatement. There is so much to see, it is almost impossible to really explore Paris in just one trip. But since most of us don’t get to live in Paris, I am sharing the top 10 must see attractions in Paris! I’ve also linked each location in the Google map below!
- The Eiffel Tower :: Go take your picture beneath it, have a picnic beneath it or go to the top for a glass of champagne {I HIGHLY recommend this tour with the Fat Tire company, we did it and loved it}. Whatever you choose- the Eiffel Tower is a must. And the view of it from the Trocadero is incredible and is a great location to take photos. {If you go to the Trocadero, go EARLY in the morning otherwise you will have tons of people in your photos. Plus, is there anything more magical than the Eiffel Tower at sunrise?}
- The Louvre :: Even if you don’t go into the museum, you must see the architecture. It is gorgeous by day and by night!
- Arc de Triomphe :: I highly recommend climbing to the top! In my opinion, it offers one of the best {if not THE best} views of the city. I recommend going during the day or at sunset.
- Sacre Coeur :: This church sits on a hill overlooking the city. Be sure to walk up the famous stairs and explore the Montmartre neighborhood {the neighborhood where the Sacre Coeur resides}.
- Jardin du Luxembourg :: The perfect place for an afternoon stroll or picnic. Even in the winter time this park is gorgeous.
- Notre Dame Cathedral :: The line out front may be daunting, but it does move quickly! We actually didn’t go in our first trip because we were so overwhelmed by the line, but were shocked at how quickly it moved when we decided to wait in it on our second trip. If you want to go up to the top, arrive early and use the entrance on the left side of the church {left side if you are looking at the cathedral face on}.
- Sainte Chapelle :: The stain glass is beyond impressive and an absolute must-see.
- Pont Alexandre III :: Possibly the prettiest bridge in the world. The bridge offers views of the Eiffel Tower and is great for photos.
- Palais Royal :: You’ve likely seen photos of the black and white pillars here on Instagram. It sits opposite the Louvre.
- Palais Garnier :: This Opera House is absolutely stunning and anyone who enjoys pretty architecture will adore the interior.

I’ve been to Paris three times and have only done about four these, I am usually too busy eating or shopping haha. I would like to go inside the Notre Dame next time and it’s good to hear the line isn’t so long, it definitely scared me off too! Great list!
Loved the Google Map feature. Still have not been to Paris, but this list loos very tempting and useful.
Love this! I’ve been to Paris but there is just so much to see and do it’s hard to narrow it down for a quick trip. I love all the things you mentioned, must see spots for sure! The Arc was my favorite :-]
Ahhh you gave me so many fantastic memories. I adored the gardens in Paris and wish we had more of those in Dallas. I also recommend exploring the Latin Quarter. It was a funky neighborhood that I wish I had more time to visit.
I haven’t visited even a half of them during my week in Paris! Need to come back for sure :) Thanks for this list!
Paris is my favorite place in the whole world! I only got to spend a few days there so I didn’t check all the things off your list, definiley keeping this in mind for when I go next!

We saw half of these on our last quick stop to Paris, but will definitely need to check out the others the next time we visit!
I haven’t made it to Paris yet but its on the list (duh!) These are great suggestions and I will definitely try and cross them all off. I like that there seem to be so many places for picnics! haha
Definitely my favourite city! There’s soooo much to visit in Paris and tell about! Great shot with the Eifel Tower!
Paris is such a dreamy place and somewhere I dream of visiting someday! I’d love to just stroll around and take in all the scenery :)
If I had to pick my top two to see first, I’d pick the Eiffel tower, the Arc de Triomphe (I like climbing things). Then maybe that bridge. That sounds beautiful.
Such a great post! Can’t wait to visit Paris one day!
I agree with all of these! I also love shopping on Ave Montaigne (window shopping), stopping at Ladureee for macarons and Jardin des Tuileries for a picnic. I love that picture with the cherry blossoms! xo Bryn http://www.waketonroad.com
