You know those phone calls you get that are completely out of the blue and just make your day? Today I got one of those from one of my old friends I had not spoken to since December. Over the course of the conversation I realized that even though we may not realize we are making an impression on the lives of those around us- we are. My friend had called basically to say a.) congratulations on the engagement and b.) that he had turned his life around and had found God. It was such a blessing to hear his enthusiasm and the joy he had discovered upon creating a relationship with God.
The rest of the day I kept wondering, ‘Do I still have that noticeable enthusiasm for the Lord that I had back then?’ This question scared (and still scares) me. After realizing that our actions DO make a huge impact on others I realized how important it is to do everything for the Lord. Our every action counts, literally. When we are serving others we are serving the Lord. This is my goal for today- to literally try to pray all day so that my every action is intentionally done to glorify the Lord. I so yearn for God’s love to shine through me and for God to use me to lead others to Him. This phone call was my wake up call and now I’m awake and ready for action! Now each day the phrase “Rise and Shine” has a whole new meaning!
