“Plunge boldly into the thick of life, and seize it where you will, it is always interesting.”
-Von Goethe
This week the starter on our bike went out. Normally I would be frustrated that our starter already went out on our bike, but the Lord is faithful and reminded us that this gave us the perfect opportunity to tour our city on foot again. While our city is decently small size wise, there is so much to see. {our little city has at least 20 different temples/wats/mosques- literally. all of them stunning} And seeing it all from the back seat of a motorbike just doesn’t compare to standing before the giant temples, meeting the incredibly friendly locals, and finding the hidden treasures of our city.
Saturday morning we dropped off our bike, got breakfast, and began our adventure. It was perfect. We also went to a zoo in the park in the afternoon with some of our friends. I didn’t bring my camera in fear of rain, but I promise to go back again soon so I can share pictures with you all. It was truly incredible. {Coconut stop! 1 bag of coconut water is 10 baht- which is like 33 cents}
The temple below was absolutely stunning. Caleb and I were not appropriately dressed to enter any temples so I started taking pictures of it from outside of the gate. A few of the locals saw us and invited us in anyways {through hand gestures… we are still struggling to learn the tonal language}. While we did enter the gate, we stayed outside of the main temple in an attempt to be respectful of their customs. Next time we will dress appropriately so we can go in and pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the temple.
They were so kind and encouraged me to take photos. You could tell they were proud of their hard work. The pictures don’t do the temple justice. It was beautiful. But goodness my heart aches for those who were worshipping there.
Such neat pictures! I can only imagine all the things you are getting to experience! So excited for you guys! Glad you enjoyed your weekend. Hope your bike is fixed soon! Have a wonderful week with kiddos :)
Oh my goodness it is incredible. The Lord has been so faithful. Praying for you and your growing family :)
