The Party Starts With

My parents always taught me that the party starts a with the invitation.  So we spent extra time picking ours out. My mom was drawn to the much more traditional invites and I was drawn to the more abstract designs and pockets. We ended up designing ours to meet in the middle.

In my opinion, these pictures don’t do these invites justice. It could be because we spent more hours than anyone should ever spend making invitations, but I was incredibly proud of the outcome. My mom and I hand cut, folded, and taped the tissue paper so the colors/sizes would show as below. We then added the lavender on top which we also cut and tied into little bundles. We then placed them into little boxes that we specially ordered for these invites. We wrapped each box with ribbon and sealed the ribbon with a gold wax stamp on the back. The sticker on the front says Caleb & Chloe. We also glued a flower or fleur-de-lis next to our names to add a little touch to it. We then placed the box in a white large envelope which we mailed them out in. We event custom ordered each of our stamps to say  ‘Budd Arnold Wedding’ for our outgoing invites and to say ‘RSVP’ for the return letter. Both stamps had an image of our wedding location as the background.

While I do love the pretty design we ended with, I am also thankful for the time my mom and I got to spend together assembling and making these.
