Little Spurs

Okay, I know that being from Texas the word “spurs” typically refers to the things that connect to your cowboy boots. But those are not what I am referring to (and I am definitely not referring to the San Antonio Spurs- I’ve been a Mavs fan since elementary school). I’m referring to the verb version of the word.

Each day we are given the opportunity to spur others on with love.  If you have ever volunteered or served others- have you noticed how happy and blessed YOU feel? Blessing others is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. But these blessings can come in everyday activities.

For example, I love recieving Bible verses or encouraging words from my friends. I know that they are typically mass texts, but it is great to know that someone thought of me. It is such a simple task but can literally turn my day around.

There are so many little ways you can encourage and love others.

phone call
hand written letter
smile
text
act of service
physical touch (hug, pat on the back, high five, etc)
words of affirmation
little gifts

There is no limit.

My dear friend Molly always says “We are blessed to be a blessing.” I couldn’t say it better myself.

Lets spur each other on with love.

“…that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. Romans 1:8-12
