I may call New York City home, but a piece of my heart will forever be dreaming of Paris. The foods, the history, the arts! Does it get any better? Each street corner and charming café is better than the next.
Each morning began with at least one fresh croissant and an espresso- just as they should in Paris. And if I am being honest, we usually had a mid-afternoon break for a second espresso or a glass of wine and cheese. So to kick off my posts about Paris- I’m starting by sharing a few of our favorite places to start/end our day. Below are a few of the best cafes in Paris!
- Café Bords de Seine- We ended our day here a few times due to the incredible staff, views of both the Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, and gorgeous cheese board.
- Les Deux Palais- Normally, I’d say avoid anything near tourist locations, but this was sincerely one of the best croissants I’ve ever had and it is surrounded by landmarks. We discovered this place near the end of our trip {i.e. after having had dozens of croissants} and had to come back on our last day. It’s the perfect stop for an early morning at the Notre Dame or Sainte Chapelle. We sat outside, but the interior is gorgeous!
- Odette – Cute, small, great people watching!
- Café de Flore– One of the oldest cafés in Paris. We were surrounded by locals reading newspapers and authors deep in their writing- all while sipping coffees. It was cliché and perfect.
- Boulangerie Saint Michel– We had croissants here Christmas morning and watched dozens of locals come pick up a few baguettes for their Christmas day meals. Great staff and delicious treats!
- Les Deux Magot– Trendy for a reason! Great location, atmosphere & Parisian staples. And Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, James Joyce, Julia Child and many others have spent time sipping espressos and eating treats here.
- Le Pré aux Clercs – Not really a café, but so so good and a great place to go sit at the bar if it is too cold or outside if the temperatures allow. Their chicken is divine!
- Le Bonaparte– Gorgeous hot chocolate {one of the best I had during our trip} and fabulous people watching!
- Eric Kayser– So good, and they have a location in NYC! They have multiple locations around Paris and they are all delightful!
Are there any other cute cafés you would recommend?

We both wore our Daniel Wellington watches everyday in Paris. They are chic and simple, which we love. If I am being honest, I think I have worn it every day since I received it! You can get 15% off your own DW watch here by using the code BEYONBLESSED {please notice no ‘D’ on beyond}.
All of these restaurants look incredible! I did visit Deux Magot, but missed all the rest. Guess I need to go back ;)
