10 Easy Habits You Can Start Today with One Minute

“Where you are a year from now
is a reflection of the choices you choose to make right now.”

A lot changed for me over the last year. And it made me even more aware that I want to be more intentional about becoming the mom, wife, daughter, sister I yearn to be. I want to be a better version of myself for those around me. And while this is a good goal, it’s easier said than done. But every goal is reached by taking the first step. So here are 10 easy habits you can start today with one minute! These simple changes can help adjust your entire demeanor!

  1. Skip the snooze button :: I’ve always been the one to set 3 alarms to make sure I get out of bed. Be intentional and get out of bed with your first alarm. Don’t hit the snooze button.
  2. Write down 3 things you are thankful for :: I truly believe there is power in writing down the things you are thankful for. I also love this 5 minute gratitude journal!
  3. Set a goal :: I’m a huge fan of setting goals. But some days I need to set simple goals for the day. Look at my phone less, be more conscious of what I eat, be more present with the boys, tell both boys I love them at least 5 times each wake time, drink more water, choose joy, etc.
  4. Drink a full glass of water :: Start your day with a full glass of water. Bonus points if you add lemon to your water! I struggle to drink enough water, so I also like to sip Spindrift and LiquidIV during the day.
  5. Make your bed :: This is an easy thing you can check off your to-do list in the day! Count it as your first ‘win’ of the day!
  6. Apply SPF :: Even if you plan on staying inside all day. I love this mineral based tinted moisturizer for my face.
  7. Check your posture :: For Christmas Caleb & I bought these to help encourage us to correct our posture and they really help.
  8. Tidy up :: Okay, so with one minute you can only tidy up so much. But even a little de-cluttering can do so much!
  9. Take movement breaks :: Take one minute every hour to get up and actually stretch. Do a quick little walk {even if it’s just to go refill your glass of water & grab a snack}. Or even do a 1 minute plank right by your desk, bed or wherever you might be!
  10. Prepare for bed properly :: Take the time to actually wash your face and put on a moisturizer. And do your best to not have any screens in your bedroom before bed {that means no aimless scrolling, watching TV, etc.} You’ll be shocked at what a difference it makes!

Is there anything you would add to this list?

These are great small daily habits! They truly make a difference. I’ve been guilty of hitting snooze and not drinking enough water lately. Definitely need to keep these little habits in mind more often!

These are such mindful and purposeful habits to integrate into your daily routine. I’m definitely inspired! I already try to participate in most of the activities, but some of them (like a full glass of water or a gratitude journal) are ones I’d really like to add to my life as well. Thanks for sharing!

These are such great habits to work on. I’ll be honest, I am the WORST when it comes to hitting the snooze button–especially because I work from home. Definitely something I can work on!
