My Birthday Bucket List for the Last Year in My 20’s

Somehow, I blinked and last week I celebrated my last birthday in my twenties. I’m officially 29! Growing older is one of those bitter sweet things things. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to grow older and am beyond blessed to have made so many incredible memories over the past 29 years of my life, but it’s a bit scary watching wrinkles begin to form and knowing my younger self had envisioned I would hit certain milestones by specific ages {which are now quickly approaching}. However, I keep reminding myself that growing older is a gift many don’t get to experience, so I’m embracing each wrinkle as it comes. I’ve earned each of those little lines and they help tell my story- of where I’ve been, what I’ve done, my joys, my sorrows and all of the in-between.

So as I enter the last year in my 20’s, I’ve decided to make a birthday bucket list of 10 things I would like to accomplish this year! Because I believe writing down your dreams and goals helps you to better achieve them. So without further adieu, here we go! {in no particular order}

  1. Celebrate at least one thing every day :: The big, the small, anything. I want to find one thing to celebrate each day. I want to focus on my blessings this next year. Maybe I’ll try posting the thing I’m celebrating each day on my IG stories. Anyone want to join me in a year of celebrating each day?
  2. Get more organized :: Caleb is definitely the more tidy of us two. I want to get more organized and declutter this year. My goal is to make sure our home is at least 90-95% back in order before bed each night.
  3. Take ballroom dancing lessons :: Growing up my parents put my in cotillions, so I learned to ballroom dance to some extent. I would love to take lessons with Caleb and actually know how to dance together!
  4. Listen to more podcasts & audiobooks :: I’ve really been loving podcasts & audiobooks recently. I used to love reading, but life is busier now so it’s easier to ‘read’ a book by listening to it. Any book or podcasts suggestions?
  5. Try cooking 29 new recipes :: I’ve started cooking more this past year, but I want to broaden my cooking ability. My cooking is still extremely basic and I’d love to add a few new staples to my repertoire.
  6. Learn French :: I’ve gotten much better about practicing my French this past year. I want to continue learning French and work hard to become at least conversationally fluent.
  7. Video more :: I have so many videos on my phone, but I never do anything with them. I’d like to start creating more YouTube content- at the very least it is a great way to store home videos for the future.
  8. Travel :: I originally wanted to hit 30 countries by 30, but I am 3 countries off and am not sure I’ll be able to hit it. We have plans to visit new cities in countries we’ve already visited, but between preplanned travels, hopefully getting pregnant, a family international wedding and Caleb’s vacation days- it just doesn’t seem realistic. Hopefully we’ll travel a bunch within the US at least!
  9. Blog more often :: I’d really like to post 4-5 times a week! I’ve created my content calendar and I have all of these ideas, now it’s just a matter of shooting the content and finding the time to sit down and write it!
  10. Get pregnant again :: Yep, I said it. Praying it’s an easy journey when we do start trying.

Is there anything I should add?
Or what is something on your bucket list?

blazer {use code chloe315 for a discount} :: white tank
jean shorts {on sale from $70 to $15}
necklace ::  shoes :: sunglasses

    This is a great list! The only thing I would add is “Spend less time working and more time with family and friends”

    This was super great until I got to the part about blogging 4 to 5 times a week! Holy smoked! I find it hard to produce just one post a week and I recently read that it’s best to aim for 2!

    I was also pretty surprised to hear you have wrinkles at 29! I don’t remember that happening to me, though it’s been a while since I was 29.

    You have a lot of great goals including getting pregnant again. I am 56 with a 3-year-old, a 6-year-old and a 15-year-old and it is definitely something that would have been much easier if I were younger. I pray you reach your dreams!
