Catching Up (Day 25)

We can choose to live the "Right Way" or the "Wrong Way"

Today we get to play a little bit of “catch-up” for the missed couple of days. I will do this through a few separate posts so that each one isn’t too long.

(If you would like to remind yourself of the verses what we have studied so far click here or if you would like to go day by day of the verses click here.)

“I am laid low in the dust;
   preserve my life according to your word.”
Psalm 119:25

I took this verse two ways (I’m not sure which or if either are intended so please come to your own conclusions as well). First, I noticed that it states we are “laid low in the dust,” which reminded me of how small I am in the scheme of things. I felt it reminded me of how little I am worth on my own. The second half of this verse reiterates how our life is worth preserving if we live according the God’s Word.

The second way I interpreted this was that as a human, I (sadly) cling to the things of this earth. By nature I gravitate towards  wanting the things of this earth. I think that by using the word “dust” we learn how unimportant the earth is and how unimportant earthly things are. The only thing worth yearning for or preserving are things of the Lord which are given to us through His Word.
