My Full Pregnancy Overview :: Second Pregnancy

It’s official! Today is baby day!! We head to the hospital tonight to be induced. I’m both beyond excited and terrified of what is to come. But overall I am just so thankful! Over the course of both this pregnancy and my last, I received so many questions. So I put together a little pregnancy overview answering some of the main questions I kept hearing. You can see my first pregnancy overview here and my trimester overviews for this pregnancy below.

How long were we trying before we got pregnant:
I’ve debated whether or not to share this since it can be a touchy subject, but have been asked the same question so many times by those wanting to start their journey, I’ve decided to give in. We originally planned on ‘trying’ October 2019 in Paris, but my brother and sister-in-law-to-be planned an incredible destination wedding in Italy for May 2020. And since I couldn’t travel that far at 7 months pregnant, we decided to wait and ‘try’ in January since it would be much easier to travel only 4 months pregnant. And we ended up getting pregnant our first month of trying, which honestly shocked me!

How I found out I was pregnant:
I purchased 100 pregnancy tests for under $20 and took one each morning, starting about half way through January. Technically I found out we were pregnant days before my missed period, so it was really soon. I continued taking tests everyday for about a week just to make sure it wasn’t a false positive. And because I had so many left over tests ha.

How did I tell Caleb we were pregnant:
Since we had known we were going to start trying, I ordered this shirt for Cayson on Amazon back in October. I stored it in one of my drawers for when the day finally arrived. You can see the video of how Caleb found out here.

Are you going to try again for a girl? Do you plan on having a third:
We actually followed all the old wives tales for a boy! I love being a boy mom! And as of now, we really are happy with just 2 kids. I loved being raised in a family of 4 and really believe our family will be complete as a family of 4. Maybe in the future we will talk about another kid, but if we do we will likely adopt. Pregnancy really kicked my booty this time & I love the idea of adopting from another country. But again, we have zero plans to add any more kids to our family at this time.

Why are you being induced?
I have the blood clotting gene, so once I hit full term the doctor wanted to get him out ASAP- for both his safety and mine. I’m being induced 7 days before my original due date. I also have an antibody that could grow stronger and attack Baby C. So it’s safer for all of us if he comes at 39 weeks.
