Third Trimester Overview :: Second Pregnancy

One week from today we head to the hospital to be induced! Which means at the latest we will meet Baby C in 7 days!! Over the past few months I’ve shared the details about my first trimester and second trimester and today I’m sharing my third trimester overview! This pregnancy has been so different from my last {see my first pregnancy overview here} and I’m so curious if labor/delivery is going to be different as well. Stay tuned- I’ll be creating another vlog & blog post {like I did last time} sharing the entire experience. But until then, here are the updates of the third trimester.

Third Trimester Highs:

  • Light at the end of the tunnel. The third trimester has FLOWN by! With Cayson it seemed like we were waiting forever for him to arrive. But this time I feel like we blinked and it’s almost his due date.
  • Good skin. I don’t know if it’s because of the weight gain, the extra fluids in my body, a consistent skincare routine or simply pregnancy- but my skin has been pretty great this last trimester!

Third Trimester Lows:

  • Morning sickness. Yep, still here…
  • Bloating. My jaw line is completely gone and I’m carrying extra weight everywhere. With Cayson I did bloat a bit, but not as badly as I am this time.
  • Weight gain. Between the bloating, huge appetite & craving all the fall treats- I’ve gained so much weight this trimester. I had been pretty consistent and proud of my weight gain until month about week 30. Now it feels like I gain 5 pounds a day {exaggerating- kind of…}
  • Pain. I’m in a decent amount of pain all the time and struggle to walk just about anywhere {as in room to room…}. With Cayson I was still walking 10k steps a day with no issues. With this guy I I’m pretty much housebound…

Third Trimester Necessities:

  • Pregnancy pillow. I literally don’t know how I would get any sleep without this pillow. An absolute MUST HAVE!!!
  • Morning sickness tea. I’m still having a pot a day.
  • Collagen Peptides. My doctor gave the okay to add collagen peptides back into my diet in the second trimester. It’s supposed to help with skin elasticity and adds a bit of protein to my morning coffee. I do have some stretch marks on my legs from college, but haven’t gotten any new ones on my belly or hips.
  • Belly oil & moisturizer. I’ve been using this oil & this lotion together to combat stretch marks. I try do put them on twice a day, but usually oit ends up being every evening or every other evening. Again, I have no belly/hip stretch marks thus far, but am unsure if that is due to genetics, moisturizers, or the collagen peptides.
  • Body exfoliator. I’m using this exfoliant on my face and this exfoliant on my belly/hips/tatas/thighs to help fight stretch marks.
  • B6 & Unisom. I’m still taking this combination daily for morning sickness.
  • Tylenol. Being real with ya… This momma is in pain. But I’ve been trying to keep my emotions in check, as I know pregnancy is a huge blessing.

Third Trimester Cravings:

  • All things fall. I blame most of my weight gain on all the seasonal fall treats… If it’s fall themed, I’m here for it!
  • Water. I literally cannot get enough water during the day. It’s nonstop. I’ve been living on Lemon Spindrift, Trader Joe’s sparkling grapefruit water and regular NYC water. If you didn’t know, NYC has some of the BEST tap water in the world. Really. You can taste the difference.

What do you think would be your pregnancy craving?

I hear ya on the feeling housebound! I’m 24 weeks tomorrow (my 3rd baby) and I am so dang tired and sore. Even going up the stairs is a battle.
