Day 3

Walking in his ways. Todays verse paints the image in my head of a little boy who wants to be just like his father.

As much as I hate to say it- I do not like today’s verse as much as I did yesterdays. The reason I do not like it as much is because it is really convicting to me. So far, the following verses are what we have covered. (Today’s is in bold)

“Blessed are they whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord.
Blessed are they who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their hearts.
They do nothing wrong;
they walk in his ways.”
Psalm 119:1-3

In my Bible there is a note on this verse which led me to 1 John 3:9.

“No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.”

I will be the first to admit that I am far from perfect and am nowhere near claiming that I “do nothing wrong.” There are many things in my life that I need to clear out. 1 John 3:9 tells us that if we are truly a born again Christian, we will turn from our lives of sin and do everything possible to “walk in His ways”- as we are told to do in Psalm 119:3. Today I pray that the Lord will reveal to me what sin I am holding on to and that He will teach me how to remove it.

What sin is in your life that is keeping you from the Lord and walking in his ways?
