Staying in Bermuda :: Fairmont Southampton

If you want beautiful, vast views of the bright blue Bermuda waters- you will love the Fairmont Southampton! The pink hotel is located atop the highest point in Bermuda and has stunning views of the ocean, the lighthouse and the golf course. While the views are stunning, what I loved most was the customer service. From the moment we check in to the moment we checked out, the staff was amazing. I even left my iPhone at one of the hotel restaurants one evening and the staff hand delivered my phone back to my room before I even realized it was missing.

The moment we opened the door to our room we were greeted with a huge room, a private balcony and a view of the gorgeous Bermuda blue water. Pro tip- if you’re traveling with a baby and know you’ll be spending a lot of time on your balcony, ask for the front ocean view. That is what we had and it was a dream! Every room has a balcony and every view is stunning, so you really can’t go wrong- I just knew the exact view I wanted. After we put Cayson down for bed in his crib {which they provided}, we would go out on our balcony and watch the sunset while we enjoyed a glass of wine and enjoyed a cheese board from one of the hotel restaurants. It was perfect!

The room itself had the most luxurious king size bed {Caleb & I were both sad to say goodbye to that amazing bed}, a couch and coffee table, a desk, a gorgeous marble bathroom, a huge walk in closet and a balcony with two chairs and a table. Our space had everything we could have hoped for in a room and balcony. It was the perfect place to retreat to after a day at the beach and pool {they even have a little kids pool & little kids slide}. Each morning we started our day downstairs at the breakfast buffet where we ate to our hearts content. I personally had a custom omelet, croissants and waffles with homemade whipped cream every morning- among other things. It was divine! Quite honestly, every meal we had at the hotel was amazing. There isn’t one item we ordered during this trip that we didn’t love. Although, we didn’t make it to the pool restaurant to order ice cream- which I’m not sure how we missed that! If you stay at the Fairmont Southampton, don’t make my mistake- go to the restaurant by the pool and order the milkshake or ice cream! Oh, and don’t miss the prosecco hour by the pool either!

After breakfast we would grab our things and head to the beach. At first I was a little surprised that the easiest way to the beach was via bus shuttle, but by the end of the trip we grew to love the quick bus ride to the beach. When the bus driver saw us get on with Cayson he instantly started playing the wheels on the bus over the intercom and actually did the motions to the song {the wipers went swish, the lights went blink, the doors opened and closed, etc}- it was hysterical! The entire bus would start singing with us and we would all get off the bus laughing. It was a quick 2-3 minute drive. We did walk it a couple times, but the bus was just the easy button and it came around every few minutes.

Once you get to the hotel’s private beach you have two restaurant options, tons of complimentary lounges and umbrellas and again- amazing service. We always ordered drinks and food to our lounges and enjoyed the beach breeze. With the exception of a couple rain showers when we first arrived, the weather was perfect. Temperatures remained in the mid-70s/low-80s and the breeze was just enough to keep us from getting too hot. I highly recommend coming in late May, early June! The weather was almost perfect! And the sand had the softest pink hue and was unbelievably soft!

And if you have time, I highly recommend booking some time at the spa! Caleb and I enjoyed a couples massage and then spent the morning enjoying the spa’s private pool and hot tubs. The views from the spa facilities are absolutely stunning and it was probably one of the most relaxing mornings I’ve had in the past 2 years. I could have stayed cuddled up in my robe, sipping cucumber water & dipping in and out of the private pool all day- but I would have missed Cayson a little too much. It really is the most relaxing little oasis.

We are already dreaming of our return to the beautiful Fairmont Southampton!

We’ve been looking at flights to Bermuda recently! It’s such a fast flight from the east coast- it makes so much sense for a quick weekend trip! Thanks for the hotel recommendation!

Oh, how I love Bermuda! We’ve never stayed at the Fairmont Southampton, but we’ve driven by it and noticed how pretty it looks. The views from your balcony are spectacular! We usually cruise there from Boston, but if we ever do fly over, now I know where I want to stay.

Wow… I just read a blog on Bermuda and decided that I have to swim with dolphins! And here comes the stay recommendation at the very right time. God is giving signals to visit it as soon as possible. Fairmont Southampton seems to be a wonderful stay. I could just be sitting on the balcony and watch the blue water all day long. Rooms seem super comfy. Thanks for this.

Whoa! The hotel is definitely incredible! The views are totally worth it!
Balcony room with a view, sipping wine after baby fell asleep sounds just too too too good (I have a toddler too!!!!)……..
Its very thoughtful of the bus driver. I’m laughing just imagining how amusing it would have been to other (non-parents) passengers!

Bermuda is one of the places I’d still love to visit! Since we travel with three toddlers, I always appreciate finding a family-friendly resort option. The breakfast sounds amazing. It’s so nice to have that option first thing when the kids wake up. That view is to die for!

Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda looks like a dream resort. No wonder you are planning to return. The colour schemes are very calming in the bedrooms and you have plenty of room as well. What great views from the balcony. Bermuda looks beautiful. Sometimes you just have to have a massage and time to yourself, well done.
