Where to Stay in Positano :: Hotel Savoia

Where to Stay in Positano Hotel SavoiaDoes it get any more picturesque than Positano? It’s one of those cities that deserves to be on everyone’s bucket list. It is that good! Sure, the food in Positano is divine and it is the perfect home base for your time in the Amalfi Coast- but Positano really made my bucket list purely because of the views. So when we planned a trip there, finding a hotel with those postcard worthy views was at the top of my priority list.

We recently stayed at Hotel Savoia and loved every moment of it! From the colorful tiles in each room to the breathtaking views- this hotel thought of everything. And to make it even better, Hotel Savoia has been a family run hotel since 1936! We spent the first half of our stay in the Junior Suite and the second half in a Deluxe Suite. Positano is a decently small city built upon a hill, so I expected the hotel rooms to be small as well. Goodness was I wrong! Upon entering the Junior Suite we were welcomed to a long foyer with a full couch and closet. As we continued into the room we found a large bedroom with a small balcony overlooking the ocean and a Juliet balcony overlooking the city. Words really cannot convey how beautiful it was in person. And the bathroom view should really win an award for prettiest bathroom view in the world. I really could have just spent hours in the bathtub simply staring at the hills covered in colorful buildings.

I have to admit, I was a bit sad when we moved from the Junior Suite to the Deluxe Suite. I really didn’t know how our next room could possibly compare to the Junior Suite. And while the Deluxe room itself wasn’t quite as large as the Junior Suite, the balcony was far larger- which we loved! Because of Cayson, Caleb and I had pretty early evenings each night. So instead of going out to a fancy restaurant, we would pick up food and a bottle of wine and enjoy a dinner at home on our balcony while Cayson slept. If you plan on spending a decent amount of time on your balcony, then the Deluxe Suite may actually be your preference. We had two chaise lounge chairs, two regular chairs and a small table on our balcony. And Caleb and I spent hours enjoying it all!

We started each morning morning with breakfast at the hotel and highly recommend you do the same! The breakfast is somewhat simple, but the coffee was delicious, the fruit was so fresh and the croissants were divine! Do yourself a favor and make sure you grab a chocolate croissant- or two! And don’t worry, Positano is incredibly hilly so you definitely work off all the treats.

I literally could not have dreamed of a more perfect location for a hotel in Positano. In full disclosure, I wish the bedding was a little nicer, but the location more than made up for it. Hotel Savoia was right in the heart of everything! Just up the hill from the hotel is one of our favorite restaurants and just down the hill is the umbrella covered beach. Hotel Savoia was the perfect home base for our stay in Positano and we are already dreaming of our return!

I really enjoyed the view from Hotel Savoia. I have not been to Italy yet but I travel often so Positano Hotel Savoia is a must stop in my travel list. The hotel is just perfect, the view of the housing and the floor tiles are just antique and artistic.
